Reflections of Lake Eola
A familiar Orlando evening that became something more.
One evening at Lake Eola.
I've spent a lot of time walking around Lake Eola over the years. I've photographed the skyline, the sculptures, the people, and more swans than I could ever count.
On this evening, the sky was what caught my attention. The clouds rolled in just before sunset, the western light began reflecting across the lake, and then a family of swans quietly entered the frame.
Since then, those swans have been relocated following the avian flu outbreak. What I originally saw as a photograph of a classic Lake Eola evening now preserves a scene many of us assumed would always be there.
